What’s a self-care ritual you ask? It’s something you do regularly to take care of yourself. It doesn’t have to be big or expensive, in fact, I’ve put together 6 things we can all do to take care of ourselves, they will easy-peasy fit into our busy lives. Are you ready? Let’s dive in.
Get out into the garden.
If not your own, how about a local park? Take time to smell the flowers, take your shoes off and feel the grass under your toes! Maybe you could start a little veggie or herb garden to tend? The options are endless & it’s so rewarding.
How often do you treat yourself to a lazy, long morning sleep in? Or how about an afternoon nanna nap? Go on, give yourself an extra little bit of time to recharge by sneaking in a little bit of a snooze…… and make it even better by treating yourself to a new eye pillow.!
O.K. how long has it been since you treated yourself to a little bit of pampering? How about booking yourself into your local day spa for a facial, Infrared Sauna or massage? Or whack on a face mask at home and have a long soak in the bath with some magnesium, you deserve it!
From top to toe. Even if you’ve got nowhere to go, ditch the trackies and put on something you love. From your earrings all the way down to your shoes. Wearing something you love, taking the time to choose an outfit, will make you feel happier and more productive. Don’t forget to pop on some lip gloss!
Use Essential oils.
Essential oils are an easy way to relax and get in the zone. Use a diffuser to burn relaxing essential oils like Lavender or Rose and take 5 minutes to sit or lie still and focus on your breathing for 5 minutes. Take the time to relax with your thoughts, it will help you get in the zone to tackle whatever the day throws at you.
Crank up the tunes and boogie through the house work, take the dog for a walk, try a yoga class, walk round to a friend’s place – just get those limbs moving! Making the time for exercise no matter how simple let’s you breathe, stretch and clear your mind.
